Case Summary:
The client that North America Immigration Law Group – WeGreened.com had the opportunity to work in this case was a Postdoctoral Scholar from the Philippines. His work had focused specifically on the chemical analysis of dissolved organic matter in the water column, as well the growth of seaweed of industrial purposes. As a Postdoctoral Scholar, he has used his expertise in both chemical analysis and marine biological cultivation to explore the use of algal biomass for biofuel production, which is a renewable energy source. We successfully demonstrated that his continued employment in the field would benefit those in his field, as well as the citizens of the United States at large. In order for our client’s case to be successful, we submitted extensive documentation proving his highly significant contributions to his field, including 9 peer-reviewed journal articles and numerous conference papers. His publications had been cited at least 74 times at the time we filed the case; nearly all of the citations were by independent researchers around the world, demonstrating that these publications are widely recognized and relied upon in the field. The inherit merit of his work was confirmed in the following quote from an independent recommender, “The importance of [Client’s] research was confirmed by governmental agencies in the Philippines where he was awarded, on three different occasions, for his great contributions to aquaculture research. [Client’s] work deserved praise because it had significant benefits for the industrial production of carrageenan, a marine product with a wide variety of uses and a high global demand from the food and pharmaceutical industries. It also serves as the backbone of the multi-million dollar marine seaweed farming industry, thereby making [Client’s] research important not just in the Philippines where his work was performed but also for the global competitiveness of the United States”. Through extensive documentation, we were able to successfully argue that our client would serve the national interest to a significantly greater degree than others with similar education and experience.
