Case Summary:
We had the opportunity in this case to work with a postdoctoral fellow from China working in mechanical engineering. Her highly specialized research had focused on microfluidics, for applications such as targeted drug delivery and oil recovery. As part of her research, she had produced 18 peer-reviewed publications as well as 15 presentations at national and international conferences. In testimony to the major significance of her work, these publications had received at least 281 citations at the time of filing from independent and leading researchers at prestigious institutions worldwide. She had also reviewed more than 25 scientific manuscripts for prominent international journals. An independent recommender commented on her superior level of expertise: “She has pioneered the field’s understanding of the connection inherent between microscopic physical parameters and real-world characteristics of nanomaterials. Her research is therefore highly practical and translatable to all scientific fields requiring use of nanofluids with improved heat transfer properties.” Our goal was to prove that our client qualified for classification as an Alien of Extraordinary Ability given that she sought to remain in the United States to continue work in the area of extraordinary ability, and that her continued research would substantially and prospectively benefit the United States. With the proof and documentation that we provided, her case was approved in just 29 days.
Recently, the USCIS has accelerated its case adjudicating time at the 2nd quarter of 2014, which is reflected in the number of case approvals of our firm.
