In this case, the client that we had the opportunity to work with was a postdoctoral research associate from India in the field of nanotechnology. He had conducted his research in the highly specialized areas of the toxicities inherent in exposure to nanomaterials, and the development of tools to investigate cell-material interactions. His research addresses some of our nation’s most pressing issues in understanding the health risks arising due to increased use of nanomaterials. His work had resulted in 9 peer-reviewed scientific articles, 3 book chapters, 1 patent that was licensed for commercialization and 34 presentations at national and international conferences; at the time that his case was filed, his publications had been cited at least 108 times by independent and leading researchers from prestigious institutions and organizations around the world, indicating the major significance of his work. He had also reviewed 20 manuscripts for distinctive, internationally-circulated journals.
