In this case, the client that we had the opportunity to work with was a Research Associate from China in the field of biomedical optics. His research and development work had primarily focused on new fast global Raman imaging systems, novel high-sensitivity nonlinear optical multi-modal imaging and microspectroscopy systems, and low-threshold femtosecond Optical Parametric Oscillator (OPO) systems, as well as studies encompassing optical materials characterization using photo-induced electron magnetic resonance, identification of the intrinsic and extrinsic point defects in TiO2 crystals, and imaging experimentation. His work had resulted in 17 peer-reviewed articles published in leading field journals and 11 refereed presentations. At the time that his case was filed, his publications had been cited at least 139 times; the majority of these citations were by independent and international researchers from institutions around the world, indicating the global significance of his research work. He had also reviewed 23 manuscripts for internationally-recognized, prestigious scientific journals in the field. The immense value of his work was confirmed in the following quote from an independent recommender, “. . .
