His work had focused specifically on formulation and analysis of drugs to treat a variety of diseases including smallpox, epilepsy and Alzheimer’s disease. His publications had been cited at least 8 times at the time we filed the case, signifying the international recognition and prevalent dissemination of his research work. The influence of his work was confirmed in the following quote from an independent recommender, “[. . .] [he] had the opportunity to design and develop intranasal formulations for proprietary compounds for epilepsy and diabetes treatment. Throughout this process, he was in charge of a number of things, including formulation and process optimization through rationale experimental planning, thoughtful execution. [His] research has resulted in intellectual property for his organization and more importantly paved the path for out-of-hospital management of seizure emergencies. The originality and novelty of his discovery is evident through a patent application which lists him as an inventor.” Through extensive documentation, we were able to successfully argue that our client would serve the national interest to a significantly greater degree than others with similar education and experience. His NIW petition was approved in 5 months and 9 days.
