During this case we were offered the opportunity to work with a reservoir engineering consultant and adjunct assistant professor from Iran in the field of petroleum engineering. His work focused specifically on the development of algorithms for field production optimization, risk management and reservoir history matching. As part of documenting the high significance of his contributions to his field we included evidence of his publications, 5 peer-reviewed journal articles as well as a book chapter and 19 conference papers, which had been cited at least 75 times by independent and leading researchers, showing the wide recognition his contributions have received. In the following quote, an independent recommender emphasized the importance of his work: “[Client’s] rule-based fuzzy logic system is a superb innovation that allows for multiple complex constraints both in objective function space and in parameters. What is perhaps most remarkable about it is that this system is compatible with any algorithm used for assisted history matching, including gradient-based, population-based, and particle filter methods. This means it can be deployed by any organization working in the petroleum engineering field and create or maintain oil and gas producing systems, a meaningful accomplishment that has and will continue to have positive influence on the petroleum industry. This algorithm also allows for the incorporation of geo-engineering knowledge, making it extremely valuable to those who work with different energy related systems.” We were ultimately able to demonstrate that our client’s continued employment in the field would benefit the United States as a whole and serve the national interest to a significantly greater degree than the employment of US workers with similar minimal qualifications, and his petition was approved in eight months and sixteen days.
Recently, the USCIS has accelerated its case adjudicating time at the 2nd quarter of 2014, which is reflected in the number of case approvals of our firm.
